Another large aquisition has transpired here in Costa Rica. International Banking giant HSBC has aquired Banco Banex and now operates throughout Costa Rica under their new name and image HSBC.
The bank purchased Grupo Banistmo, owner of Banco Banex, for $1.7 billion. As of yesterday, the Banex brand disappeared and was replaced by the HSBC logo.
