Cable Services

There are only two main cable providers in Costa Rica; AmNET and CableTica. Each has their own coverage area and rarely do they overlap. Cable TV is widely available in big cities however smaller towns may have very limited coverage. Sattelite TV service is also available from a couple of different companies.

Currently neither AmNET or CableTica provide High Definition signal and to the best of my knowledge neither do any of the Sattelite providers.

In my experience AmNET provides the best service as they have taken the english speaking community into consideration and provided the ability for it's customers to adjust their audio setting to SAP (Secondary Audio Programming) on their TV which allows you to hear selected channels in english. Just something you may want to take into consideration when you are looking for an area to live in.
